Dr. Marie-Christin Bareuther LL.M.

Dr. Marie-Christin Bareuther advises and represents clients in national and international arbitration proceedings as well as before state courts. She has particular expertise in international sports arbitration. In addition to her work as counsel, she also serves as an arbitrator in sports-related disputes. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Bern focusing on transparency in sports arbitration.

Before joining VISCHER, she practiced law in Germany with an international law firm specialising in arbitration and litigation, as well as with a leading boutique law firm for (sports) arbitration in Geneva. Furthermore, she holds an LL.M. from Bond University (Australia) with a focus on dispute resolution. She is admitted to the German Bar and registered on the list of EU lawyers in the Canton Basel-Stadt.

Marie-Christin Bareuther publishes and regularly speaks on topics related to sports law, sports arbitration, and esports law. She is also active in various professional networks, including serving as a board member of the "Junges Netzwerk Sportrecht" (JNSR), which regularly organises events for young legal professionals interested in sports law. Her international background and legal qualifications make her a trusted point of contact for cross-border matters, particularly those involving Germany and the international sports sector.
