Angelina Rau

Angelina Rau is a lawyer specializing in advising companies in regulated markets such as pharmaceuticals, medical technology, biotechnology, healthcare and chemicals.

She represents Swiss and foreign companies before Swiss civil and administrative courts, arbitration tribunals and administrative authorities. Her preferred areas of practice include therapeutic products, human research and patent law. She has a strong passion for life sciences and technical-scientific matters. She is currently pursuing a part-time inter-faculty doctoral programme (medical and law faculties) with an integrative and interdisciplinary research focus in the areas of medical, biomedical and health law and biomedical ethics at the University of Zurich (Ph.D in Biomedical Law and Ethics), as well as a Master in Drug Development at the Medical Faculty of the University of Basel. 

Prior to her secondary education as a lawyer, she gained several years of professional experience in industry (international commodity trading, international production and trading company white goods, chemicals). Her background in business administration complements her ability to grasp commercial law issues. Thanks to her strong understanding of interdisciplinary issues and her holistic approach, she provides her clients with effective and practical solutions. 

In addition, she is the CEO (ad interim) of an association dedicated to the promotion of innovation in the health sector, is involved as a mentor for start-ups and regularly gives lectures and publishes in her research area and fields of expertise. She also has experience as editor-in-chief and publisher of journals, board activity in associations and as founder and CEO of a social entrepreneurship (FMCG) and a service company in the field of education.
