Our new Counsel in Tax Law

We are pleased to announce that we have appointed Adrian Briner, Certified Public Accountant and Certified Tax Expert, as Counsel with effect from 1 January 2024.

Adrian Briner is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Tax Expert. His areas of expertise include both national and international tax law. In addition to focusing on corporate tax law, Adrian Briner also deals with tax issues in the fields of blockchain and crypto token. He advises start-ups and growth companies in the life science, technology and luxury goods sectors, medium-sized companies with an international focus, as well as the owners of these companies.

He has more than ten years of experience in the tax areas of M&A and restructuring financing, corporate reorganisations, employee participation plans, taxation of blockchain business models, compliance and topics at the intersection between companies and their owners. He stands out due to his understanding of the interaction between tax law, bookkeeping, accounting and business administration. With his expertise in accounting, he ensures that the developed tax solutions are correctly implemented and reflected in the books.

He is an active member of various professional organisations, in particular EXPERTsuisse, the International Fiscal Association (IFA) and the Swiss LegalTech Association. Adrian Briner regularly publishes and lectures in his areas of practice.

Adrian Briner completed his studies in business administration at the University of Zurich in 2003. He qualified as a Public Accountant in 2008. He has been a Certified Tax Expert since 2016. Thereafter he obtained the U.S. International Tax Certificate from the American Institute of Certified Accountants and the Business Strategy and Financial Performance Certificate from INSEAD.

At the beginning of his career, Adrian Briner gained valuable practical experience at a renowned international auditing firm. He then worked in the tax office of the Canton of Solothurn. He finally joined VISCHER in 2017 and quickly became a sought-after tax expert in the fields of corporate tax law, employee participation plans and blockchain.
