Event: International Privacy & Security Forum, Washington, D.C., February 26–27, 2018

Data privacy issues may significantly constrain multinational corporations' ability to fully cooperate in cross-border investigations. But timely, continuous and full cooperation is essential to receive leniency status or cooperation credit in investigations by U.S. law enforcement authorities, such as the DOJ or the SEC. This session of the International Privacy & Security Forum 2018 discussed best practices for how companies can master the challenges of cross-border investigations while mitigating the risks of claims or sanctions for breaches of privacy laws in the European Union, Switzerland, or other non-U.S. jurisdictions with strict privacy laws.
