Vischer AG advises Thommen Recycling Group in the acquisition of METALLUM Group (Schweiz) AG, and in the financing by a bank consortium led by Basellandschaftliche Kantonalbank.

Swiss Thommen Group (“Thommen”) with its headquarter in Kaiseraugst (Aargau) has acquired 100% of the shares of METALLUM Group (Schweiz) AG (“METALLUM”) based in Regensdorf (Zurich) creating a leading group for the trading, recycling and processing of metal and electronic scrap with several sites and facilities in Switzerland as well as in Germany, Belgium and Italy.
METALLUM will be integrated in the group structures of Thommen but will continue to act independently on the market and will keep its existing management. No layoffs are planned.
METALLUM was majority owned by funds managed and advised by TowerBrook Capital Partners L.P. Closing of the transaction took place on September 1st, 2015.
