By means of family reunification, persons residing in Switzerland with a legal residence permit can bring their family members living abroad to Switzerland. While EU/EFTTA nationals (with a valid Swiss residence permit) benefit from the very generous provisions in the Agreement on the Free Movement of Persons (AFMP). In this regard, Swiss nationals are generally subject to stricter requirements.
