On June 30, 2021, our Head of China Desk Lukas Zuest gave a presentation at the Swiss Chinese Life Sciences Forum 2021 about "China’s new 'dual circulation' strategy – How does it affect life science companies?".

He explained the main objectives of this strategy that was introduced in 2020 to reorient China's economy by prioritizing domestic consumption (internal circulation) while remaining open to international trade and investment (external circulation). Further, he showed how the strategy was implemented in the Chinese 14th 5-year plan for the years 2021-2025. In the third part of his presentation, Lukas Zuest illustrated key opportunities and challenges for Swiss and Chinese life science companies in relation to the dual circulation strategy.

The forum was co-organized by VISCHER together with the Swiss Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Basel Area Business & Innovation.
