Karenin Gomes (Apprentice)
Karenin Gomes was born in 1990. She began her apprenticeship to become an office support specialist (Swiss federal diploma) with VISCHER in 2007.
What motivated you to seek an apprenticeship with VISCHER?
I was looking for an apprenticeship that offered good future prospects. It was also important for me to have a job that promised a certain degree of variety. After a day on the job to see if I would like it, I was certain that this was the apprenticeship I wanted to do. I felt very comfortable.
What does a typical day at the office look like for you?
It’s difficult to generalize, because I am always moving from one section to another. But in any event, my duties include: manning the telephone, correspondence, photocopies, making coffee etc. In actual fact, I am the "go-to gal”.
How would you compare your employer to others who also take on apprentices?
I think, because VISCHER is such a large firm, it offers me a broad range of subjects that I can experience during my three-year apprenticeship. Such as, for instance, the accounting department, the tax department or the IT support department.
Could you imagine a future with VISCHER?
I could easily imagine staying with VISCHER following the completion of my apprenticeship and thus having a smooth transition to a regular career.
VISCHER in three words?
Reliable, generous, open.
